This citywide initiative invites K-12 students in Columbus
to honor local African American leaders and historical figures through visual art. Students are encouraged to create 2D artwork that reflects the impact, contributions, and legacy of their chosen figure.
We invite you to take part in Keepers Of The Culture, a special youth art challenge designed for Central Ohio students eager to explore and celebrate Columbus’s Black history. This exciting opportunity encourages K-12 students to research and honor the legacy of local Black leaders by creating original paintings that reflect their impact on the community. Selected artwork will be featured in a published book and showcased in a city-wide vinyl fence wrap installation. Join us in preserving history through art and creativity—let your voice and vision shine!
